The course aims to develop professionals capable of designing, constructing and caring for environments
of everyday life, learning and growth of children and in which their development, curiosity and desire to
undertstand and experiment with reality can be welcomed and supported.
In a journey organised around lessons and workshop activity with guidance from specialists from the
world of pedagogy (education) and early childhood provision, participants will have the opportunity to
become familiar with theoretical and methodological competencies in order to join together pedagogical
and disciplinarian “languages” and knowledge and to refine their personal ways of seeing children and educational work:
- a holistic wayof seeing which captures the dynamic interconnection between all dimensions of
experience in humans and children: emotional, physical, cognitive and social
- an empathetic way of seeing and respectful of children’s needs, individual and in the group, welcoming
children’s natural suggestions and interests
- a cultivated/competent way of seeing, attentive to developments in avrious fields of knowledge,
hospitable towards children’s natural suggestions and interests
- a connective way of seeing opportunities for dialogue between scientific,
linguistic and artistic knowledge in everyday life. |

course development and coordination This course will be carried out by Faculty of Education Sciences
at Milan-Bicocca University and Reggio Children. |

| professional opportunities Course participants be given priority access to a second level
course planned for Spring 2010, and to recruitment
in infant-toddler centres and preschools working with
consultants in Milan-Bicocca University and Reggio Children. |

 |
| duration and location The Course begins 3 February 2010 and ends 31 March 2010.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and
Saturdays in building U16, Via T. Mann, Milan. |

course requirements Candidates for the course should have one of the following
qualifications: a bachelors degree (three years),
or Masters degree. |

 |
| fees Fees for the course are Euro 1,500.00
and must be paid on enrolment. |
